Eileen Deswiage holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and is a member in good standing with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada. She is passionate about supporting children, youth, adults, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and hope. Eileen brings extensive leadership experience in the areas of mental health, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, trauma-informed care, and family support. Over the past several years, she has served in senior clinical leadership roles overseeing Autism Intervention and Mental Health & Wellness programs, where she has supervised multidisciplinary teams, mentored Behaviour Interventionists and clinical staff, developed organizational programming, and supported the growth of neurodiversity-affirming service delivery models.
Her professional work integrates counselling, clinical supervision, behavioural consultation, staff development, program design, and educational training. Eileen has experience supporting children, youth, adults, couples, and families navigating autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and complex family dynamics. She is particularly passionate about helping organizations build ethical, compassionate, and sustainable systems of care that honour both evidence-based practice and the dignity of the individual.
Eileen’s clinical framework draws from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Positive Interactive Behaviour Therapy, trauma-informed practice, faith based, sensory-informed approaches, neuroscience, and regulation-focused models of support for the mind, body and spirit.
Alongside her clinical and leadership work, Eileen is also a published children’s author and developing author whose writing focuses on healing, neurodiversity, faith, trauma recovery, and family relationships. Her work often integrates psychological insight with Christian faith-based perspectives, particularly around themes of restoration, forgiveness, resilience, identity, and healing from relational wounds.
Deeply grounded in her Christian faith, Eileen approaches leadership and clinical work with compassion, humility, and a strong belief in the value and potential of every individual. She is committed to fostering supportive team cultures, mentoring emerging professionals, and helping individuals and families experience meaningful hope, healing, and connection.
